New Report Finds Heavy Radio Listeners are Ideal Targets for Summer Blockbuster Ads
Recent studies commissioned by Cumulus Media | Westwood One Audio Active Group track consumer perception and behaviors around one of America's favorite pastimes: moviegoing. Findings show that radio listeners may be box office gold for new releases.
RADIO FANS ARE NOT YOUR AVERAGE MOVIE FANS
Heavy radio listeners are more engaged than the average person with the movie category. Nearly 1 in 4 are frequent moviegoers, going several times a month or weekly (vs. 15%), and 1 in 5 see movies in the theater opening weekend (vs. 16%). When considering Westwood One's list of 10 major new movie releases from this spring and summer, half of heavy radio listeners are already aware of the films and have higher intent to view one of them.

RADIO IS BOX OFFICE GOLD FOR ALL MOVIE GENRES
Westwood One's Theatrical Tracker survey found movies to be relevant and top of mind among heavy radio listeners across a wide variety of film genres. Be it action, comedy, drama, horror, or romance, radio listeners expressed higher awareness of upcoming movies than the average person - even those films with release dates months away.
